TK Lands At KVRT
By Andrew Cutler
March 21 2011
After the most difficult off-season of his career, the biggest 'star' among the IndyCar free agents has finally nailed down a ride for 2011. 2004 series champ Tony Kanaan will contest the full season in the third car at KV Racing Technology.
Kanaan and team co-owner Jimmy Vasser have a long history, both as on-track rivals (in CART in the mid/late '90s) and friends, so it was no suprise that TK reached out to KVRT once his deal with de Ferran Dragon Racing fell apart. "I'm thrilled that we reached an agreement and from the bottom of my heart I'd like to thank KV Racing Technology - Lotus for the opportunity they have given me and especially for taking me under the circumstances I found myself in."
As part of KVRT's developing partnership with Lotus (where they are positioning themselves to be the 'primary' Lotus squad once the 2012 spec engines arrive), TK's car will carry the classic green & yellow Lotus livery as well as the #82, a tribute to the late Jim Clark's 1965 Lotus, which won that year's Indy 500.
