After nearly a year of anticipation, and several months of deliberations, the IRL is finally ready to reveal their plans for the future chassis of the Izod IndyCar Series. You can follow the public announcement live at www.indycar.com, starting at 12:15pm ET/5:15pm GMT on Wednesday, July 14.

The ICONIC committee has been reviewing and debating the merits of chassis proposals submitted by Lola, Swift, BAT engineering, long-time IndyCar chassis supplier Dallara and Delta Wing LLC, whose radical design was created by Ben Bowlby of Ganassi Racing. While most IndyCar fans would ideally like to see multiple chassis options available come the 2012 season, it seems likely that the ICONIC committee will only chose one of the prospective candidates.
