Moraes, Not Rossiter

It appears that I may have jumped the gun two weeks ago when I assumed that Englishman James Rossiter was going to be driving for KV Racing Technology, at least as of right now. There has still been no offical word of his status with the squad that he tested for back at Barber at the time of my statement, & they are currently in Sao Paulo, gearing up for this weekend's season opener.

What has happened with KVRT, however, is that Mario Moraes is back for a second year with the team (and his third overall in IndyCar). The deal to get the talented young Brazilian back in the fold just came togeather on Thursday. “It’s great to be back working with the team;" Mario told the press. "Being in the car to start the season is very important for me, especially since the race race is in my hometown. I didn’t make the preseason test, so it’s straight to the race weekend. It will be a challenge and work to get used to the new engineers and new people, but I think we’re going to have a good weekend.”

As for Rossiter, I suspect that he will still prove to be a part of Lotus' plans to return to IndyCar - the details of which are supposed to be unveiled soon - somehow. Stay tuned.
