KVRT - The Next Superteam?

A few weeks ago, it was looking like KV Racing Technologies was going to be lucky to field a single car for the 2010 season: Now they appear to be sitting on a solid count of three, with a potential for a fourth still out there. The line-up lacks any 'seasoned' veterans, but has young drivers with, hopefully, plenty of potential, making KVRT a possible squad to watch in the upcomming campaign.

E.J. Viso is the nearest thing to a 'veteran' at the moment, with two seasons at HVM under his belt. The big question on him remains; can he FINALLY reign in his obvious raw talent and channel it into consistantly solid results? 2010 will probably be his last chance to prove that the answer can yet be; "yes, I can".

Newcommer Takuma Sato needs little time to adjust to the road/street protion of the IndyCar schedule - his impressive results during the just-finished testing days at Barber Motorsport Park attest to that - but how will he fair on the ovals? Expect a steep learning curve, and let's see if he's a fast learner.

Then there's Englishman James Rossiter. The former F1 test/reserve driver and Formula 3 standout has yet to be 'formally' announced as a member of KVRT, but is listed as such on their interim website, and was also testing at Barber. Rossiter's deal MAY be linked to Lotus' attempt (see my Oct 20, 2009 story; "Thinking About IndyCar?") to re-enter IndyCar: His car at Barber was livieried almost EXACTLY like the old John Player Special from the late '70s!

And then there is Mario Moraes, the young Brazilian who drove for KVRT during the past two seasons, and was widely regarded as an up-and-comming star. Sponsorship issues have sidelined him for now, but the rumor mill says that he is still working tirelessly to pull a deal togeather.

All in all, KVRT is looking like a squad that certianly OUGHT to have alot of potential to move up the grid.
