Lola USA, a divison of the famed British race car chassis manufacturer, has finally released drawings of their submission to the Indy Racing League for their proposed 2012 spec IndyCar. At the center of their plans are 'dual' chassis styles - called B12/00 & B12/01 - that offer visual variety, but similar performance capabilities.
This will provide; "attractive and aero performance balanced racecars that will deliver a return to close and gladiatorial racing," Lola said in a statement. "Safety, efficiency, styling and affordability have been at the forefront of the Lola special projects team that have been working on this project throughout 2009 to date."
Lola's proposal also differs from the other three contenders in that they also have plans for a new Indy Lights chassis, with several key parts being essentially interchangeable between the two. This, they claim, will drive down costs for both series & make the learning curve for drivers moving up from Lights to IndyCar a good bit easier.
Like the other contenders, Lola has committed to building a production facility in the US if it's car is chosen.
Here are a few of the drawings from their presentation.
