Riccardo: STR8 Will Be "Rather Different"
By Andrew Cutler
January 3 2013
We now have our first very basic sense of what to expect from Scuderia Toro Rosso's 2013 F1 challenger. It appears that the STR8 will not be a mere direct evolutionary decendant of it predecessor, the generally under-performing STR7.
Speaking to the Italian magazine Autosprint, driver Daniel Ricciardo acknowledged that he has already seen the new car; the first developed by James Key, who became STR's Technical Director in the closing months of the 2012 F1 season.
"I have already seen the new car. When you examine it more closely, it is very different to the old one," he related. "I believe that it is better. In any case, it's not one of those cars that looks a total copy of the last one, as though nothing has changed."
There is no word yet as to an offical unveiling date for the STR8.
