Liuzzi sounds off

With nearly everyone expecting an announcement - possibly sometime yet today - that Champ Car ace Sebastien Bourdais will be joining Scuderia Toro Rosso for next year, sophmore driver Vitantonio Liuzzi is looking at being the "odd man out" at the squad from Faenza.

The Italian website f1grandprix.it recently spoke to their countryman to get his take on the Bourdais rumors and his plans for the future. Liuzzi told them that it was "quite clear" to him from the start of the year that both he and the recently fired Scott Speed were out of favor with the team bosses.

"That's why I decided to look elsewhere and Scott did the same. Now we are at this point. The atmosphere inside the team wasn't the best one, because many times the drivers were accused unfairly to hide the problems of the car."

Liuzzi would not verify which teams he was having discussions with, but one rumor currently circulating is that he is talking to the Williams F1 team about pairing up with Nico Rosberg for next year.

When asked for his impression of STR newcommer Sebastian Vettel, Tonio was  dismissive of the young German. "Maybe they thought they will put him in the car and he would be half a second faster than me. Instead it was quite clear it was the contrary."
