No rest for the weary. After a dispointing GP at the Nurburging on Sunday, Scuderia Toro Rosso headed for the track at Mugello, IT for the final three day testing session of the summer. Working on blance, areo and new brake materials, they tried to prepare for the upcomming GP in Hungary.

Tonio would drive on day one, putting in 80 laps and posting a best time of 1:24.203. Scott would take over the driving dutes for days two & three. Electronic issues in the morning and a coolant leak in the afternoon would hamper day two, but Scott would manage 42 laps with a best time of 1:24.097. Driving with lower back pain that started late on Wednesday, he would nonetheless log 74 laps on Thursday & post a personal best time of 1:23.950.

Chief engineer Laurent Mekies was basically pleased with the week's results. "We worked on validating some new areo components for the Hungarian Grand Prix, by doing some runs in maximum downforce configuration, as well as assessing various brake materials. High speed Mugello might not be the ideal venue to simulate slow speed Hungaroring, but at least the temperatures were similar to those we might experience next weekend."
