Rubens Barrichello joined the Honda Racing F1 Team in Jerez today for the second day of the test, taking over from James Rossiter in chassis RA106-02.
As usual for this time of year in southern Spain, the weather continued to be hot and sunny with ambient temperatures of over 30°C.
Rubens began the day with some early set-up runs before working through an aero evaluation in the morning session. He started a chassis set-up programme in the early afternoon, however a spin at turn ten resulting in some minor damage to the rear of the car interrupted his running for a short time. Rubens was able to go back out fairly quickly, however an engine failure late in the afternoon ended his running slightly earlier than planned. Rubens completed a total of 47 laps today.
In chassis RA106-06, Anthony spent the day working through a comprehensive chassis set-up programme, alongside a tyre evaluation looking at options for the forthcoming races. He completed a total of 110 laps today.
Jenson Button will join the test tomorrow, taking over in chassis RA106-06 from Anthony.
