The first day of BAR Honda's two-day test programme at the Monza circuit in Northern Italy began yesterday morning with drivers Jenson Button and Takuma Sato and BAR Honda Young Driver Adam Carroll.
Jenson had a productive morning running through an aero evaluation test in chassis 007-06, completing 51 laps. Takuma's morning session was unfortunately interrupted by a gearbox problem in chassis 007-03, which limited his running to 22 laps.
Adam, driving in chassis 007-01 which is a development car for 2006 systems, completed three runs acclimatising himself to the car and the circuit.
Jenson continued his planned programme in the afternoon session running through a tyre evaluation, alongside set-up work for the forthcoming Monza race. He completed 115 laps in total. The team's third driver, Anthony Davidson, will take over chassis 007-06 today.
Takuma had a more productive session in the afternoon as he ran through a tyre evaluation, completing 97 laps. Adam continued to run in chassis 007-01 completing 37 laps.
Full times for the entire test will appear shortly.
