BAR sign new deal with Takata, renew SAP deal

Lucky Strike BAR Honda have inked a new supplier deal with Takata, a leading manufacturer of seatbelts, and other car safety equipment. They're also a major supplier to Honda.

Following a research and development programme with Honda and the team's drivers, Takata will supply the team with lightweight safety belts, offering a considerable saving over the existing belts without compromising safety.



The team have also renewed a Technical Partner deal with SAP, with BAR Honda continuing to use the SAP ERP 'lifeing system'.

The SAP ERP system, exclusively used by BAR Honda in F1, is a programme designed to monitor and control the use of all car components, recording race and test mileage against them. This partnership has proved to be very helpful to SAP UK as a case study to build their domestic business.
