BAR's David Richards admits to learning from Todt

David Richards, whose BAR team is shaping up to be the biggest consistent threat to Ferrari, other than Renault, this year, has revealed that he is a massive fan of the Italian outfit's team principal, Jean Todt, who like Richards has a background in rallying.

Since being appointed by company president Luca di Montezemolo, Todt has turned the Italian team into multi-championship winners.



"You build self confidence through a sound foundation," Richards tells the Daily Telegraph. "That is why you see Ferrari are so mega at the moment. They have that confidence that they can do what they want. We have to build that in our team.

"Ferrari are a wonderful team in every respect," he continues. "I have an awful lot of admiration for Jean Todt and the work he has done there. There are lots of things I have copied. I have watched what he has done and followed it very carefully. I make no secret of that."
