Ahead of this week's tests there is still confusion over whether Lucky Strike BAR Honda will run with Bridgestone or Michelin rubber next season.
In October Michelin revealed it had received a request from the Brackley outfit with a view to supplying tyres for 2004, this is despite the fact that BAR has a contract for next season with Bridgestone.
This week BAR will test alongside fellow Bridgestone runners Ferrari and Sauber at Barcelona while Michelin runners are in action at Valencia.
In its efforts to discover what's happening regarding BAR's tyre supply for 2004, pitpass contacted the Japanese tyre manufacturer.
"There isn't much further news to give," said a spokesperson. "We are still discussing the matter with them and hope to resolve the matter amicably but no final decisions have yet been made."
BAR-Talk.com has heard that a final solution should be in place in early December, after the first round of tyre tests.
