Lucky Strike BAR Honda's star driver Jacques Villeneuve hasn't been in demand for 2004, and things don't look to have changed, with Villeneuve admitting there's no reason to be optimistic.

"There is no inkling of an offer coming from anywhere and there hasn't been an offer from BAR either," said the 1997 world champion, "It is late and there is no good news so there is no reason to be optimistic."

"No decision has been officially taken by the team and it doesn't look too good but that doesn't mean it is finished," he added "It is out of my hands though, it is in BAT's hands, in the team's hands and in Honda's hands."

It is widely believed that Villeneuve will be replaced by Japanese star Takuma Sato, and Jacques doesn't disagree, saying "I guess it depends on who wins the battle but there is a big push for Sato coming from Honda."

"This just makes me lose faith in the paddock because no decision is taken with reality in mind," he goes on. "It is completely lunatic. It is like a dream world where everybody does their own thing without any logic."
