Wurz out of the running for BAR seat

The spare seat at Lucky Strike BAR Honda, alongside Jenson Button, is unlikely to be taken by Alexander Wurz, as he confirms he's to stay as a McLaren test driver for another year.

"I'm enjoying my time with West McLaren Mercedes and the immense technical challenges which are part of my job as third driver," says Wurz. "As every racing driver will confirm racing is what you want to do.

"However I know that my contribution to the development programme makes a real difference and is a key factor to the success of the team. As a result until the right opportunity comes along, I strongly feel that I couldn't be in a better place."

It's likely, however, that Wurz's contract has a get-out clause should a racing seat become available.
