MGP is facing a difficult challenge for the remainder of 2011 if the main thrust is on preparing for next season.
As we enter the 14th round of the schedule our team still anticipates good results. Lately there seems to be little talk of up-grades for our current car. Both McLaren and Ferrari have publically announced they will continue working with their 2011 cars. This isn’t good news for Mercedes GP, especially in light of Nico’s goal is to take aim at catching Massa in this year’s Drivers’ Championship. Rosberg is currently in seventh, 16 points in arrears of the second Ferrari driver.
“My target is to catch Massa for sure, but that’s going to be a challenge.” Rosberg said in Singapore’s Thursday press conference.
“It’s also difficult to keep Michael behind. I just need to keep scoring points consistently and not get taken out in the first turn.”
Michael is looking forward to his second night race and seems to enjoy the track and all the under the lights activities.
Let’s cross our fingers and hope our recent momentum continues and there are no bad first turn mishaps for either of our drivers.
