Nipun one of our message board regulars has some words for those who come to our site purely to bash at Michael Schumacher and Ferrari. Read on as Nipun tells how it really is and not how the media would have you believe.

I have been going through each and every site reading the views about THE finish. I dunno what exactly Schumi was planning- whether he did it intentionally or just messed it up - I just don't care. There was a loud upcry when Rubens made way for Schumi in Austria this year and everybody blamed Schumi. This time Rubens won a race, which he clearly didn't deserve and still it is Schumi who gets the blame. Controversy and Schumi are two inseparable things and will go hand in hand as long as Schumi is there in F1. C'mon guys, give him a break. He led from start to finish and was never really challenged by Rubens at all.
A repeat of the Austrian debacle was impossible to repeat so soon. Tell me how many drivers would be smiling and celebrating on the podium after losing a win by 7cms. It's better than a certain driver who rushed to the nearest bush to cry his heart out. What happened in Indy may have been a cock-up by Schumi but it was indeed a great sportsman spirit the way he was behaving on podium. It is still better than taking each other out on 2nd lap itself and sending the whole of the team into tears.
Indeed what happened was a good payback for Austria in a way. Rubens lost a win to his teammate when he clearly deserved it and Schumi lost a win to Rubens when Schumi clearly deserved it. So that evens it up.
Anyway, I noticed that most of the people who are condemning Schumi and Ferrari come from 2 groups mainly - Williams and McLaren. How long will u keep blaming us for making a mess of it? We are the champs right now and it's our wish how we end things. U want to do it ur way - sure, win the titles from us and have fun ur way. The real reason why Ferrari has been so dominant is not because it has "over-performed", the real reason is that others have under-performed. This is especially for the McLaren guys who are going backward every year. Williams has really improved since 2000 and they surely do deserve the 2nd place as they really are the 2nd best right now. What finally matters is the title. Ferrari has sealed both of them again. It is up to u guys to mount up a challenge to try and take them away. Eventually one of u may win it but it's still with us and we want to enjoy every minute with it in the way we want.
So stop blaming Schumi for making fun of sport and other mindless comments. He is the best. u know it but don't accept it. How all u guys keep wishing he retires. Mind u, the day he retires, it will send the TV figures down again temporarily. Who is the real superstar material right now in F1?? C'mon tell me. Who is the guy who u love to hate and hate to love?? DC, Ralf, JPM.. no sir. All these guys are pretty good but for the last 10 years, the only real superstar in F1 is Schumi.
The day he retires, the jewel in the crown will be gone and as of now, there is nobody in F1 who can take his place. Enjoy all his antics !!!
