Ferrari are not going to be stopped in 2003 according to former Ferrari driver Eddie Irvine. Irvine who is thought to be coming to the end of his F1 career has said that his contacts within Ferrari have told him they are making the same leaps for 2003 as they did in 2002. It’s a scary thought for the rest of the paddock admits Irvine.
"The guys at Ferrari are telling me that they've made bigger steps for next year than they've made between last year and this, already. It's kind of scary.” Said Eddie. "Williams are unreliable. They don't do a job anywhere near the level of Ferrari, that's quite clear. Ferrari finish races while everyone else is breaking down. And you can't really stop them having a one-two if you're parked on the verge after 28 laps."
Rory Byrne has already stated that he thinks it is possible for the F2003 car to be as big a leap forward as the F2002 chassis was and if these predictions come true then it looks like we are in for another very successful year. Michael Schumacher is showing no signs of slowdown and Rubens Barrichello is finally settling into the Ferrari seat and promising much more. Everything looks good so far for Ferrari even at this early stage.
