Bernie Ecclestone has confirmed one of the latest rumours that if Ferrari were up for sale then he would not mind buying them. Ecclestone who heads up the commercial side of F1 says that if FIAT were selling and the price was right then he would buy the Ferrari team.

Speaking to Italian media Bernie Ecclestone has said that he would maybe buy shares in Ferrari if he was given the chance, but he would almost certainly buy the whole company if the price was right for him. FIAT have recently sold 34% of their 90% stake in Ferrari and rumours remain that the troubled Italian giant is looking to offload more of the shares.
Piero Ferrari still has his 10% of shares and FIAT has said that no matter what they wish to keep a controlling interest of 51% of shares in Ferrari. Bernie has been associated with these shares for a while now but for the first time he has spoken about it. What would it mean to Ferrari if Bernie took over control? Well world titles would be won easy enough that’s for sure, that was a joke by the way!
With 34% already sold to Mediobanca who in turn sold more of these shares on it seems FIAT are prepared to lose some more of their stake in Ferrari, but selling out totally remains to be a very big doubt.
So Bernie, the price is wrong, go buy Arrows.
