Jordan's EJ15 Breaks Cover

The EJ15 broke cover today as Jordan's latest driver signing took to the track. Despite a foggy and damp start to the day Tiago Monteiro completed 35 laps in the afternoon with no major problems.

The team used the National circuit at Silverstone, just across from the teams current base on Dadford Road.  The Jordan Toyota EJ15 completed installation runs and system checks ready for a more comprehensive test at the Northamptonshire circuit later this week.

"Today was really cool and from my point of view it went great." said Tiago.  "We started late because of fog in the morning so we didn’t achieve
everything we wanted to. But we did 35 laps in the afternoon and had no major issues at all. We carried out some of the tests we wanted to do and I feel comfortable in the car. So far so good. I’m really happy and looking forward to continuing the work this week."

Tiago will get another really cool run in the Jordan tomorrow after the car undergoes some routine post-shakedown checks at the factory.
 

Trevor Carlin, Sporting Director of Jordan Grand Prix, said “It was a foggy start to the day here in Northamptonshire so we had to wait all morning before we could get started. However once the weather cleared slightly, the afternoon went well and Tiago was able to complete almost 100km, making good progress with checking the various systems on the car. We’re looking forward to getting our teeth into the full test programme in two days time.”

The full test begins on Wednesday (9th February) when Narain gets his first run in a Formula One car.  Both drivers will be at the circuit on Thursday and the team will run two chassis at the circuit on Friday.
