Timo for a change at Jordan

It's Timo for a change at Jordan. Friday driver Timo Glock will replace Giorgio Pantano for the last three races of the 2004 World Championship season.

Giorgio's contract with the team has been terminated.  Eddie is quoted saying “It has been a pleasure working with Giorgio this year however contractual issues have made this unavoidable and we wish him every success in the future. Timo’s performance throughout the season as our third driver in testing and free practice has been first-class particularly when he stood in and raced in Canada. I am confident that in this unexpected call-up he will do a good job for Jordan again. In Shanghai he will be in the same boat as everyone else as the circuit is new for all the drivers.”

"Contractual issues" were the reasons given at the Canadian Grand Prix where Timo deputised for Giorgio and scored two World Championship points for the team.  It's not known if the team will run three cars on Friday although rumour suggests Robert Doornbos making his F1 debut in China.
