No Jordan seat for Verstappen

Jos Verstappen and sponsor Trust have pulled out of all negotiations with Jordan ending the chance of Jos driving in F1 this season.

A statement on Trust's official website says: "The Jos Verstappen management, along with Trust and other sponsors, have decided to discontinue the negotiations with Jordan. Despite the fact that all parties involved tried their very best, there are still obstacles which could not be agreed upon."

Trust International will still support Jos Verstappen. "We have given a full 100% for this. Other opportunities may arise, for Jos Verstappen to obtain a seat in Formula 1 later on this season", advised Muriël Wolda, Marketing Manager at Trust.

Jos Verstappen is very disappointed not to appear on the grid for the Jordan team: "We’ve all tried our very best to get to an agreement, but despite all time and effort, we could not agree on all issues."

Jos clearly wanted to drive but it would appear that the sponsors are the people who have ended discussions, not Verstappen and his manager.  The rumour mill says that Jordan would not give title sponsorship to Trust, despite providing them with prominent space on the car and on the driver's overalls earlier in the week.
