Verstappen pulls out of talks with Jordan

Jos Verstappen's management team has apparently decided to pull the rug out from under his feet, ending talks with Jordan and effectively denying him a drive in Formula One for 2004. Presumably, this will signify the end of the popular Dutchman's F1 career.

Reports on the BBC website and Jos' personal site say that "The Boss'" management team were dissatisfied with the contract drawn up by Jordan saying that "After lengthy study of all related contracts, the sponsors and management of Jos Verstappen decided this morning to break off the ongoing talks with Jordan.  The points of the contract presented by Jordan gave insufficient confidence in a successful cooperation in the coming season."

 

It's not clear however if Jordan are asking for more than Trust and Meurman's are prepared to stump up or if Jos's management have made up an excuse for become impatient with the negotiations.

Jordan are can't comment on this today.

The team have yet to announce it's driver line up for the year.  However, the team are preparing the EJ14 for it's first outing at Silverstone next month.  The big question being "Who's going to drive it?".
