Glock to test for Jordan

Jordan today announced that German driver Timo Glock will take the wheel of the EJ13 in the first day of it's four day test in Barcelona.

“Timo Glock is probably the most promising young driving talent in Germany at the moment and I’m delighted that we are able to offer him his first F1 test.  He’s come up through the junior categories quickly and with good results so I’m optimistic that he will be very significant in the future of German motorsport.” Said Eddie.

“I am proud to be invited to do a test with Jordan Ford as it has been my biggest dream to drive in Formula One.  I am quite nervous but as always I will do my job to my best ability and as soon as I sit in the car I will be ready.” Said Timo.

Two down and two to go.  Tuesday and Wednesday's test drivers have now been announced by the team.  This leaves the final two days of the teams test driverless.

Speculation on the web again turns to Jos Verstappen and the possibility that he will be announced as a Jordan driver for 2004.  The team advise that they have to remain tight lipped over negotiations.  Information like this can be considered Commercially sensitive and the public have no right to this detail until provided by the team.

Jordan's spokesperson said: "It's difficult to give fans the information they want particularly during the winter - we can't tell you about discussions and negotiations that are ongoing (with drivers, potential sponsors, or otherwise) until an agreement has been concluded, because in many cases if negotiations become public prematurely, it can interfere with the proceedings"

So it's a case of when we're ready.  However, "Watch this space - hopefully not too long now." they continued.
