Nick Heidfeld has emerged as the best candidate for a race seat at Jordan in 2004, so much so that he will be joining Jordan for their upcoming winter test at Jerez.

“Nick is a prime candidate for a revitalised Jordan Grand Prix next year" said Eddie. "We are anxious for him to start getting to know the team at this stage.”

“It is an important test as we have got a lot of new components to try as well as vital tyre testing for Bridgestone.”  said the man still very much in charge.

Jordan will be in Jerez next week from the 3rd to 5th of December and will also spend three days in Barcelona at the end of January with the EJ14 to be launched in the first week of February.   Czech Jarek Janis will join Nick for the test for two of the December days.

Rumours on the web have also put Jos Verstappen as a prime contender for a seat although that's only been voiced on one website.

Great news from Silverstone.
