Jordan have announced a major sponsorship deal with Tiger Telematics to carry their Gametrac logo initially for the British Grand Prix and then through the whole of the 2004 season.
Tiger Telematics are about to launch an electronic gadget which will offer SMS capability, games and GPS tracking.
Eddie, world renowned for his wheeling and dealing has again pulled off a major deal with a brand new sponsor to the sport. While mobile telecoms companies are increasingly looking to trackside rather than team sponsorship and considering Jordan's ongoing Vodafone saga, Jordan has brought a new age of sponsorship to the sport at a time where the financing a team is getting harder and harder.
Eddie said, "I'm very pleased to bring Tiger Telematics on board with Jordan as they are a smart company setting the trend in an innovative industry. We are delighted to help them launch Gametrac, a product which I'll certainly be giving my kids to try out, and I look forward to continuing our business partnership throughout 2004".
Tiger Telematics Chief Executive officer Michael Carrender said, "The deal with Jordan enables us to spread awareness of both our brand and our products to the huge Global audience interested in Formula One through one of it's most established, forward looking teams. The on-car signage is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of the marketing opportunities such a deal represents. We look forward to a fruitful on-going relationship with Jordan Grand Prix."
This is such good news of the team and the fans. Jordan have struggled this year with a lack of development on the car. The Friday testing option perhaps having been a bit hasty. This deal perhaps not a title sponsoring deal will no doubt shore up the coffers ready to fight strongly in the 2004 season. Rest assured that this is surely the first of many alternative deals that Jordan have been concentrating on to secure the financial backing to go racing next year.
