Flashback: Jordan Spain 2002

And they said it wouldn't last! Jordan Fans Online celebrates it's first birthday this week, with the Spanish Grand Prix. This time last year, the Jordan drivers, Giancarlo Fisichella and Takuma Sato (remember him) were getting themselves ready for the race at the Circuit de Catalunya.

Giancarlo qualified in 12th place for the race which ended on lap 6 when a hydraulic failure put him out.  Takuma managed to keep on the grey stuff for another five laps until he span out of the race on lap 11.  Eddie was quite naturally livid with his Japanese charge.  "Takuma will be given an opportunity to explain himself .  I don't want to say anything but we'll give him his chance in private." 

The double DNF came at the same time as Jordan's announcement that 200 jobs were to be lost in an attempt to streamline the team and keep costs down.  Not a happy time for the team.

Jordan go into this years race after another double DNF in Imola, however a successful test session at Silverstone last week will at least bouy the team for a good weekend ahead.
