Despite comments made earlier today on this website and in answer to the message board comments, Jordan are fighting fit and raring to get Down Under and show those Italians a thing or two about motor racing.

We and plenty of others have alluded over the last few months that Jordan are in severe financial difficulty, however  a statement from the team tonight has gone some way to allaying our fears over the security of the team for the rest of the 2003 season.

"Today we unveiled our livery. We have already announced the driver line-up (with the exception of the test driver, which may not be confirmed until after the start of the season), and our sponsor line-up, everyone has seen the new car running and they've seen the livery as of today. We have a strong driver line-up, the Jordan Ford EJ13 is looking very promising in tests so far, and everyone at Jordan is optimistic about the new season." Said a team spokesperson.

"With the support of our long term partner Benson and Hedges and new engine partner Ford, as well as strong backing from Damovo, Bridgestone, Brother and Imation, we have a secure budget in place for the year. We don't carry any debt (and never have) and we have finished in the top 6 in the World Championship for nine years in a row."

The EJ13 has set very promising times during the off season testing sessions, Giancarlo is satisfied with the progress of the car as are Gary Anderson and the boss Eddie J.  Ralph Firman is showing good control and promise for the rest of the season.

The future certainly seems bright for seasons to come.
