Jordan's first day of testing in Valencia saw the team shoot up the rankings to finish the day second fastest behind Rubens Barrichello with a fastest lap of 1m11.70 seconds. Faster than the times of Williams and Mclaren from last week.

The team have worked hard since last weeks fairly dismal start and have clearly solved a number of problems with the car.  Combined with a possible driver and sponsor announcement this week, the teams fortunes may finally be turning around.

A minor mechanical problem meant that the team needed to close the shutters half an hour before the session ended but those at the top were very please with the days efforts.  Gary Anderson said  "It was good to get some normal test running in today, and although we still have a bit to do here and there, we have made progress. We haven't had any major problems today and we are beginning to understand the car better. It's encouraging that we are lapping a second quicker than we were here last year."

Also testing was Takuma Sato undertaking the first of his duties for B.A.R.  Taku was timed at 1m.13.13s. So was it really man or machine?!
