Jordan Saddened by Arrows Demise

Tough times for all

The Arrows situation has upset a number of people in the paddock, none less than friend of Tom Walkinshaw, Eddie Jordan. The Arrows team plan to appeal after having been refused entry to the 2003 World Championship. They were waiting for the FIA to confirm their entry before revealing more.

"I'm saddened by this situation, personally, because I know Tom well and we have raced each other for quite a few years at different levels.  I am always an optimist, and if it was my team, I would hope to find a way of sorting it out.  But we don't know if that can happen in this case." Said Eddie.

The situation at Arrows is indicative of the general air in Formula One.  The rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer.  Jordan are no strangers to operating on a shoestring and there is no doubt that the team will pull through and be on the Grid in Melbourne.

"It's a tough market for all of us at the moment but Jordan is in a few negotiations and I think we have a lot to offer sponsors." continued EJ. "We are used to running a lean organisation and making every pound go further.  I'm very upbeat about next season."

Jordan have made a significant investment in a radical new car for 2003 and hope that the Durand design will pay dividends when the wheels finally turn in anger.  However the road is not going to be an easy one but with just three months to go before the first race, Jordan are well on the road towards perhaps their most successful season yet.
