De Jong money already claimed back?
Arsenal bound?

With the ink hardly dry on our first real signing (not one for the future, not free) for 18 months, comes the news that a deal with Arsenal for Mathieu Debuchy is already in place.
Obviously the proposed move has been rumbling on for weeks now, but according to the daily star we have agreed terms and the move will be completed once Debuchy returns from the world cup.
So if this turns out to be true, our not spending anything continues, 12 million in for Debuchy, 6 million out for De Jong.
While I welcome Siem, in fact I am quite chuffed with the signing, I think he’s potentially a cracking player, I do wonder if the signing has only happened now, because of the incoming money from Debuchy.
And let’s not kid ourselves, Siem, no matter how good he turns out to be, is hardly us buying the final piece in the puzzle, it is merely a start.
I just hope that, money is still to be spent, money this time that is not immediately recouped by selling our prize assets, and pocketing the extra.
There is of course an alternative view, which if it wasn’t for too many times being lied to and let down by the current regime, I would love to take.
How about a moment of being positive?
Could De Jong, and a few signings like him, actually persuade Debuchy, to stay, that we do have ambition?
It’s possibly just the giddy madness that comes from making our first real signing, since Noah was a bairn, but you never know.

Plus Monaco and PSG are sniffing around aswell as marseille so i doubt they will have accepted the first offer rather than try and start a bidding war
