Another player fails to get over the ‘line’?

Trying to see the line?

There are numerous reports that long term target Bafetimbi Gomis is poised to sign for Swansea. He will be having a medical today.

will be having a medical today.

We apparently can’t afford/don’t want to afford the signing on fee Swansea are paying him. It does rather beg the question of how exactly are Swansea in a stronger financial position than we are.

So the search for a striker will continue the search for excuses about not getting a striker in will also continue.

Time to move the line?

Or how about simply employing someone who actually has a clue on how to run a football club.

They tend to need players; this fact seems to escape our current regime.

Me and my beer league strike partner are willing to play up front all we need is a couple of plane tickets across the pond, a place to stay and food and drink. We aren't any good but we fit the club's apparent wage structure!

Aye but not the signing on structure, plane ticket will be a stumbling block.

Can you walk/swim?

Maybe a row boat? I'm too old for the structure too, I'm not, "one for the future" On a serious note, haven't we been "interested" in this guy for three seasons now? That is one far away line!

I am beginning to suppose the line is quite portable

The club are saying that he was always a back up if they didn't get other targets,

Its funny, fans have been moaning for years he's not good enough and now he's signing for Swansea we are missing out on a world class player

I am not moaning we are missing out on a world class player, I am moaning that we seem to miss out continually.

Was never really excited by the prospect of gomis to be honest and always felt he would be a mistake for prem league football but then I felt the same about bony and was proven wrong but I guess I will be proven right or wrong this coming season when he lines up for Swansea !
Not too upset about losing out on gomis , more alarmed that the club have failed in the pursuit of their target once again when anyone with slightest degree of intelligence and memory will know the men in charge aren't renowned for having back up plans
I get the feeling pardew's gonna have another season with a ready made exscuse of having to put square pegs in round holes

I don't think gomis recent record is that bad for goals but the problem with strikers is it's much harder to score in the premier league
The French and Spanish and Dutch leagues in particular are not as fast and physical allowing strikers more time to think about their shot
