For or Against Rome?

Ferrari President Luca di Montezemolo finds himself in a precarious situation of whether to support or not for future a GP in Rome.
Di Montezemolo has been challenged by Monica Rizzi, the regional sports councillor for Lombardy, the governing region of the famous Autodromo Nazionale, to either pledge his support or state his displeasure in as many words.
Rome's mayor Gianni Alemanno who is supporting Rome's candidature, feels the event would not threaten Monza’s annual date. She feels by 2012 Rome would be ready to host a Formula One race.
However, Rizzi feels that a GP at Rome would threaten the historical venue at Monza.
“Monza is part of the history of our region, it is among the most popular on the formula one calendar and our pride since 1922. Hands off,” she is quoted as having told Corriere dello Sport.
“I think it’s time for di Montezemolo to say whether Ferrari is for or against (a race in Rome). As most Ferraris are sold in the north of Italy, I think it would be appropriate,” added Rizzi.
There are no statement from the President of Ferrari so far.
