Ferrari BLASTS Max and New Teams

In a direct attack on former President Max Mosley, Ferrari, has questioned his cost cutting measures while comparing the new teams as just there to fill up the grid.

 

According to the report, published on its official website, Ferrari says that the holy war waged by Max Mosley against the manufacturers has only backfired.

Ferrari believes big constructors leaving the sport is not a good sign for F1. With BMW and Toyota out, and the Renault team in shambles, Ferrari asks, whether all this was worth it?

It came down heavily on the new teams connected with the forthcoming season, openly criticising each one of them.

It said the two new teams that made their debut a week back viz., Virgin and Lotus, and who were part of the winter testing session at Jerez, were merely circulating the circuit, with almost no real pace.

The USF1 team, which was talked about much, according to Ferrari, have went into hiding.

Campos Meta team, which got financial backing just few days back from one of its major shareholder, was refferred by Ferrari to now act as 'Royal Slave' who would just be there to please its owner, rather than seriously compete.

The most critical attack, of all, however, was directed at Stefan GP. Ferrari questioned the integrity of people involved with the team, like Mike Coughlan, who was sacked by McLaren in 2007 after being named in the spy scandal.

Ferrari is just echoing what most of the team on the grid feel and are concerned about.

Technololgy ain't cheap, and if FIA wants F1 to be technologically superior to other motorsports, it should do away with cost cutting.

On the other hand flimsy FIA rules that is open to misinterpretation is another area which has upset the teams in F1. It wouldn't be out of place if we say that the double diffuser rule of last year ruined BMW's any hope of a good show, and stopped the best designed car of Red Bull from winning the competition, which was all Brawn GP's at half-way of the season.

Inspite of a good show by Toyota in the last few races, it couldn't impress its management and discontinued from F1.

It would be interesting to see what FIA has to say about this straight forward attack from Ferrari.
