March 8 2006
Many doubted whether the Super Aguri F1 team formed just four months before the start of the season, would be able to compete in 2006. Now they have a squad of determined personel, heavily revised a23 cars and are raring to go.
Super Aguri has made it into the 2006 formula one championship, and competing in Bahrain which will will be their first ever grand prix. Although this will be a milestone and a massive achievement, big challenges and plenty of hardship awaits. The team has done the least amount of testing by an extremely large margin and have yet to cover a race distance and so very unprepared. However, Sato remains optimistic, "Although we did not get much running due to bad weather, the car worked well immediately."
First time f1 driver and Bahrain visiter Ide is excited but cautious, "I am expecting tough conditions as it is my first F1 race but also because of the hot weather."
Team Principle Suzuki Aguri is proud of his team's achievement but under no illusions of what to expect, "We know that we have a challenging year ahead, but we are determined and have a great team spirit which we hope you will see this weekend."
So it begins, and heres hoping I will be providing you coverage of their ups and downs in the fantasitic and unpredictable world of F1. Special thanks to Cima racing and all those involved for making this possible.
