"Interlagos is a favourable downforce level"

As all of us, Ben Woods is very happy with the team's car. After all, Super Aguri was hoping to score one point and it now has 4 points. Hell, before China, we were even ahead of STR and Honda! However, the team hasn't been doing well in the last few races, and Ben Woods blames it on the limited resources.

"We've never had the largest aero department and we are currently a team of 11 people doing everything, so we're quite used to making the most of limited resources. However, that gets a bit difficult when you can't afford to wind tunnel test. We have not been able to put on any really serious development parts since May."

He hopes the team can hire more people  for the aero department in the Winter.

The best news is that the team, if the Interlagos track is dry, will use a new rear wing. Ben Woods adds that "Interlagos is a favourable downforce level for us. (...) Typically our development strategy has worked well here in the past in terms of what we can extract from our mechanical/aero platform."

All Super Aguri fans know that he is referring Interlagos 2006, when Takuma Sato, driving a car that always finished in the last two places, finished surprisingly in 10th place, just two places away from points. And the treacherous (just kidding) Sakon Yamamoto took the 7th fastest lap. That race filled the fans with hope for 2007 and the team didn't disappoint us.
