Staff hard at work

The winter has been quiet for Force India, but not any more! Today, Force India's latest creation, the VJM02, was fired up in the factory at Silverstone. This marks the true beginnings of FIF1's campaign in the 2009 F1 championship; the time when its staff will find out how successfully they have turned their dream into tangible reality.
An anonymous employee reported the happy news this afternoon. There wasn't a lot of detail, but the fact itself says a lot. It says that Force India's development is very much on schedule, there haven't been any major production snags and there will soon be publicly-visible action for us to discuss. All good news.
It's taken 14 weeks to get to this point. Following the Mercedes engine deal in the second week of November, the team must have been working flat-out to design and produce the car in time. The plans for the Ferrari-engined version were thrown out, so what they have is a completely new car, with the additional input that a few extra months will presumably have enabled.
The first time a completed car is run in the factory is the mechanical equivalent of a child taking its first breaths. The Force India staff will surely be parental proud of their creation. Whatever ups and downs may lie ahead for the VJM02 and Force India, tonight is for celebration!

for some reason i had it in my head that FI were getting a customer car like STR from MM. did i have this completely wrong and they have actually designed a chassis?
Yeah but you have to admit a lot of people got this idea...
But well sunday the world will see how much it looks like a McLaren... and I think all will agree this is no customer car deal.
A lot of people do think that Force is a B team now.
The chassis has been designed by FI asd;flkj with mclaren and mercedes helping with the engine, gearbox and Kers.
Can see if they have taken some of Mclarens philosophies on board as regards to the design.
I believe they have already had a shakedown test but aint seen any pics yet so will have to reserve judgement till weekend

The livery is cool, but the chassis strikes me as being a bit "boxy" looking: I hope that cuts through the air alot better than the shape seems to suggest that it will!
thumbs up for the livery, it is easily one of the nicest liveries around, and the driver suits are by far the most good looking. I have to say that it is true that the car may look a bit boxy, but it's the first time in 4 years that this car looks fresh and IS GOOD LOOKING as well. Hope it is also fast.
by the way i was looking at the pic of the new FIF1 and comparing it to the other cars...and FIF1 looks like pinocchio..doesnt it..look at it at a side angle...compare it to the rest and u will see that the nose it longer and flatter compared to the others...it extends ahead of the front wing also...I wonder why...
