Karting Competition/Get-Together

It's a long time until the first F1 race of 2009 (89 days to be precise) and I thought it would be a good idea to break up the wait by arranging a karting event to coincide with Autosport International. It would be a good opportunity to meet some of the people who are using this forum and have some fun at the same time.

The karting competition is on Saturday 10 January at 5:40pm. The venue is Teamworks Birmingham, which is 5 minutes away from Birmingham New Street station (which in turn is 10 minutes' train ride from Birmingham International, adjacent to where Autosport International is held). I'll be arriving by train and it looks perfectly feasible to use public transport (if it isn't, then Donington Park next year has no hope...)

 

There will be practise laps and a final. The bar will be open after the competition (for anybody wishing to come but not wanting to kart, the bar will also be open during the competition). I have invited several other online friends to the competition as well, so you won't be on your own.

 

If you're going to Autosport, are planning on getting tickets or live near Birmingham anyway, it should round off the day nicely. If not, Sidepodcast will be live commenting the competition, so you don't have to miss out.
