Finally - Complete Confirmation of Line-Up

Tonio will test

There has been a lot of speculation concerning the Force India seats, despite confirmation of the race seats happening back in October. This was not helped yesterday when Mallya said nothing had been decided concerning his drivers. A sign of how quickly things can change happened today...

...when Force India F1 issued a press release confirming three drivers . Not only did it repeat the message of October that Giancarlo Fisichella and Adrian Sutil as the race drivers, but we learned Tonio Liuzzi has been retained as the tester. This was slightly more surprising, as we had heard absolutely nothing about Liuzzi's plans for 2009 and with the McLaren deal, there seemed a strong chance that Paul di Resta or another McLaren driver might get the testing gig.

There remains the possibility that a McLaren driver may be a secondary driver, but hopefully this release signals that Force India fans need no longer worry about driver speculation. Now we can concentrate our anticipation on the 2009 car.

Well it may not be as complete as they say.According to latest reports Martin Whitmarsh is going to lobby on behalf of de riesta .[uk.eurosport.yahoo.com].
This is getting tiresome now.I think they should have de riesta as test driver .With a warning to Sutil and Fisi that if they arent performing by the middle of the season they will be replaced . smiling smiley

Presumably this means that Force India may have two test drivers. Which is somewhat unconvential given that the likes of Williams are scrapping test teams...

Well with no in season testing there isnt much use for a test team.Thats why they will probably have test drivers who are racing in other catagories ie gp2.They mention di reista may have another season in the same catergory to try to win the crown smiling smiley
