Following the Grand Prix of the USA, the BMW Sauber F1 Team immediately returned to Europe. In Spain, a three-day testing programme is scheduled to prepare for the French Grand Prix in Magny Cours.

The BMW Sauber F1 Team competed in two overseas races within eight days. Nevertheless, the team and the drivers will not receive any time to take a break following the World Championship races in Canada and the USA, since the next testing programme is already scheduled for the middle of this week.

On 5th July test and replacement driver Robert Kubica will get behind the wheel of the BMW Sauber F1.06 in Jerez, in the south of Spain. He will be joined by 2004 Formula BMW Champion Sebastian Vettel, who is currently fourth in the Formula 3 Euro Series.

On the two following days, Nick Heidfeld will then take over the testing work in Jerez from Vettel in order to prepare the BMW Sauber F1.06 for the upcoming race in Magny-Cours. The Grand Prix of France takes place on 16th July.
