Hey y'all! Been awhile again...I've been busy with work and a massive oil leak on my truck...AND unseasonably cold weather here in Canada as we welcomed in Spring 2011! However, it's 4:21 pm here right now,,,and in about 15 short hours...qualifying for the Australian GP will begin for me...unless you live in Europe, I think you can knock like 5 or 6 hours off my wait time.

I am using OpenOffice.org Writer for this little ditty...and for the most part, I love it as I didn't have to give up a testicle to MS for their proprietary 'Word.' Problem though is that OpenOffice.org isn't really compatible with Sportnetwork's code. Neither is 'copypasta' with Firefox lol...guess I'm going to have to go back old school with this...I'll mail the copy in! Or maybe, finally, pony up the bucks and do this right...cause my download of OpenOffice.org is flawed and has a bug somewhere...shit shows up all of a sudden...other shit just dissapears.
Anyhow, testing is over, whining has begun...and we still have a car yet to fire up! Sounds like F1 2011 to me!
Sauber had a great testing this winter...they didn't blow anyone off the map, but were regularly in the top ten...mileage (or lap count) was great because reliability was there too. However, the same could be said for a number of other teams too...Red Bull, Ferrari, Mercedes...even Williams, Toro Roso, and Iconic Williams are all there...
What was hard, if not impossible to figure out (until after of course)...was the outright raw pace of the new contenders.
The top teams were able to post some pretty solid times. Over relatively shortish stints. On the softer compounds. But on cold ashphalt. Or in the rain. On a new tire provided by a completly new supplier, none of the teams were happy with the amount of grip.
Oh well...they'll have to deal with it...and deal with the degradation that the F1 TWG , FOM and the FIA approved for the new tire compounds...
I do believe we will indeed see a big change in the running through the race...depending on where and when the tire's are completly gone off.
I think track temperatures, weather conditions (sunny or cloudy, or maybe rainy but sunny?), will play a huge factor in the car's general performance...be it a Ferrari or a Marussian Virgin.
Testing didn't really tell us who was truly dominate...it gave us an outline of who was strong, who was mid field and then the rest.
Sauber ran well, typically in the top time stats...we even finished a teat day at the top...which told us nothing.
Tomorrow morning is where we separate the boys from the sissy boys...Australian GP Qualy...and I for one can't wait to see the whining and crying begin!
