Heidfeld admits he won’t pay superlicense... yet
By BMWF1Talk
February 19 2009
Today emerged that the BMW Sauber driver, Nick Heidfeld, is not one of the three F1 drivers that has already paid for its superlincense, despite the controversy of the last couple of weeks. It first rose when drivers expressed their concerns about a FIA’s high increase in their racing license.
The rest of the content: "I haven't paid." told the German driver to Gulf Daily News, newspaper of Bahrain, where he is testing at the moment.

If other reports are true, then the most any other athlete has to pay for a license is $4000 for a NASCAR driver. To have to pay so more than other well-paid drivers is absurd. Even worse is Mosley's argument that it's an appropriate price due to the drivers living in tax havens. Does that mean a driver who stays in his home country shouldn't pay as much? More importantly, Mosley claims it's only a about 2% of a drivers salary, but what if a rookie driver comes in and has an unbelievable year? It could be a massive chunk of cash if the driver is being paid an "entry level" rate.

I wound not care how much money I had, I would only care if it is justified ? I'd know for sure, I would be with Nick at the end of the of the payment line until it is all resolved.

Is th elicense fee related to some cost associated with the FIA's services provided to the drivers and the sport, or is it just a simple money grab?
My guess is that Max thinks that taking more from F1 drivers is "progressive".

So who's gonna replace him?
I think that Klien needs to pay only 10k euros.

* Pay or drive elsewhere ( Max )
Not paying for Nick means;

Simple isn´t it ?

In the whole article of Gulf newspaper he says he won't pay until this things are clarified between GPDA and FIA.
As well I don't contradictions between the title and that quote
The fact is that he hasn't paid, nor he will pay in the pay future. As simple as that

Robert's waiting for Poland to print more currency to cover his deposits from last year.
Come on it's a joke. Just a little fun while we wait.

I'm sure that Robert doesn't keep his money in Polish banks. In fact he should be happy to go to Poland now and get 5 zlotys for 1 euro

Q. Do you have a superlicense yet for this year?
RK: For now I don't know.
That makes me think he's paid but it hasn't been signed off by the FIA yet. If he hadn't paid wouldn't he have said "no"? Or is this just Robert being Robert again?

Quote:but the money raised by the new licence fees will not go to any taxation departament of any country. as i have said before: max (or bernie, or fia for that matter) is not a tax departament, or a representative of such an institution. max is just shaking the drivers because he wants a pice of action and he thinks they won't step up. i wonder when will he start sending goons into teams' garrages,or drill some kneecaps and brake some thumbs...gturner

The pathetic part about all of this is that the money is supposedly needed for safety improvements, but F1 doesn't actually pay for any improvements. They just make mandates for the teams and circuits, so why do they need the money? And why just F1? If the FIA truly needed this money, why not spread the cost among drivers in other series who also benefit from the improvements being made? At least the IRL actually owns the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and I'm pretty sure NASCAR puts some money into safety improvements at it's tracks.
