Turkey GP: Saturday Morning Practice

In the final practice session for the Turkish GP, the BMW Sauber F1 Team drivers completed their preparations for the remainder of the weekend, confirming the ongoing competitiveness of the BMW Sauber F1.07. .

As usual, the third free practice session brought a first hint regarding the BMW Sauber F1.07's true competitiveness. Nick Heidfeld and Robert Kubica both successfully completed their preparations for qualifying and the race without experiencing the slightest technical problem.

In the Saturday morning session, Nick wasn't as busy as his team-mate but proved to be fractions quicker. The German completed three stints totalling 18 laps and on the first flying lap of his third stint - contested on mediums, the softer of the two tyre compounds available here - he set his personal best time of 1:28.184 minutes to finish sixth on the time sheets.

Robert completed four stints comprising 21 laps and also set his fastest lap time on the first timed lap of his final run, in the closing stages of the session. In the end, he failed to beat his German team-mate but was just 40 thousandths of a second slower. With his 1:28.224-minute lap, Robert finished seventh.

In qualifying, which starts at 14.00hrs local time (12.00hrs BST), Nick and Robert will both give their very best in order to once again secure promising grid positions, enabling them to realise their main goal: to consolidate the BMW Sauber F1 Team's third position in the Constructors' Championship.

McLaren's Lewis Hamilton lapped the "Istanbul Speed Park" in 1:27.325 minutes, thus proving to be the quickest man of the session.
