On Tuesday, the BMW Sauber F1 Team commenced a three-day testing programme at the "Silverstone Circuit" in preparation for the coming French and British Grands Prix. Nick Heidfeld completed a total of 42 laps. Timo Glock will take over testing duties for the remainder of the test.
Less then 48 hours after the US Grand Prix, the BMW Sauber F1 Team
driver found himself back at the steering wheel of his BMW Sauber
F1.07. This time Nick was busy at the "Silverstone Circuit", where the
BMW Sauber F1 Team started a three-day test.
With temperatures reaching up to 24 degrees Celsius, nine drivers took
to the track at Silverstone today. Nick did 42 laps and recorded a
total of 205 kilometres. He set a personal best time of 1:23.841
minutes. Ralf Schumacher (Toyota) posted the overall fastest lap time
in 1:22.794 minutes.
Nick worked on the set-up for the Silverstone race. He mainly tested
tyres and some new aero and mechanical components that showed promising
results. He finished the test one hour before planned due to a slight
back pain.
On Wednesday, Timo Glock will take over from Nick and continue the test
programme of the BMW Sauber F1 Team at the "Silverstone Circuit" for
the remaining two days.
