Toyota interested in Heidfeld?

Autosport.com has revealed that Toyota F1 have denied the reports from the german media that Toyota would be interested in having Nick Heidfeld as race driver for the next season. Heidfeld has contract with BMW-Sauber till the end of 2007, with an option of one extra year.

The speculation may have emerged after the bad performance in Australia for the Team which is believed to spend more money in F1. And it looks like the drivers Toyota have at the moment are not the ideal ones for bringing the success to Toyota.

So is Toyota looking for other option? Probably yes, but won't do any move at least until mid-season, and Nick Heidfeld is BMW's golden boy, so there is hardly any chance that he would abandon the rising German squad, that is having very promising results, and go to Toyota, which has still to prove their potential, after failing to win a single race since they joined F1 in the early 2000's.

There is also the speculation that Honda has made an offer too, probably as replacement of Barrichello.
