Kubica looking forward to Spa's return

The 2007 Formula One season features 17 rounds, one race fewer than last year. Besides Fuji, Spa-Francorchamps will also celebrate its comeback to the Grand Prix calendar. For BMW Sauber F1 Team driver Robert Kubica, the return to the Belgian circuit is a positive step.

 

"I think it is very good that Spa is back," says Robert. "I know Spa pretty well. Not from Formula One of course, but from previous series. Spa can be compared to Suzuka which I will miss. It was very nice to compete at that challenging track in 2006."

For the first time in 30 years, Fuji will become a Formula One venue. Previously, the "Fuji International Speedway" hosted two Japanese Grands Prix - in 1976 and 1977. Consequently, Robert and all the other Grand Prix drivers will be entering virgin territory when it comes to competing in the 2007 Japanese GP in late September. "I don't know much about Fuji," he admits. "I was in Tokyo recently for a Petronas PR event. I saw a bit of film footage there about the Fuji track. It looks quite interesting but it is not the same as Suzuka which is really unique."
