In his maiden Formula One season, BMW Sauber F1 Team driver Robert Kubica managed to arouse the attention of fans and experts alike with some outstanding performances. His team-mate Nick Heidfeld is hoping for more exciting duels with the 21-year-old in 2007.

During his six Grand Prix appearances so far, Robert delivered performances which came very close to matching Nick's efforts. He convinced all critics and is since considered to be one of the most promising young talents in Formula One racing.

Nick knows how to handle the hype surrounding his young team-mate: "I am sort of used to it," he explains. "Whenever a newcomer arrives and does a good job, it is always what happens. I had the same with Kimi Räikkönen and to a degree also with Felipe Massa, so it is OK. If people think he is a really good driver and I beat him, then that only puts me in a good light."

Nick enjoys the challenge of competing against a strong team-mate, and he is full of praise for the cooperation with Robert: "We get on well this year. Obviously he is very quick. We had a couple of races where we were close together, and I suppose that is how it will be next season as well."
