Unlucky wet race at China: Nick 7th, Kubica 13th

Michael Schumacher is the winner of the 2006 Chinese Grand Prix. He secured victory ahead of Fernando Alonso and Giancarlo Fisichella. Nick Heidfeld finished seventh for the BMW Sauber F1 Team. His team-mate, Robert Kubica, claimed 13th position.

Race Update: the start.
The Chinese Grand Prix is underway. In wet conditions, both BMW Sauber F1 Team drivers failed to improve on their grid positions at the start. Nick Heidfeld is currently running in ninth place. Robert Kubica had a brief off-track moment and dropped back to 21st position. Fernando Alonso is leading the race.

Race Update: after ten laps.
Both BMW Sauber F1 Team drivers have found their rhythm at the "Shanghai International Circuit". Nick Heidfeld has passed Scott Speed for eighth place, while his team-mate, Robert Kubica, is ploughing through the field: He has succeeded in improving from 21st to 12th position.

Race Update: after 23 laps.
The BMW Sauber F1 Team is still on a good run in the 2006 Chinese Grand Prix. Nick Heidfeld is running in fourth position prior to his first pit stop. His team-mate, Robert Kubica, has sensationally improved from the back of the field to fifth place.

Race Update: after 32 laps.
Both BMW Sauber F1 Team drivers have completed their first pit stops. Robert pitted for dry tyres, however, the gamble was not rewarded. Only one lap later the Pole came in again to have intermediates fitted. He is currently 16th. Nick is running in a promising fifth position.

Race Update: after 43 laps.
The Chinese Grand Prix is entering its decisive stage. Nick Heidfeld currently holds fourth place, while his team-mate, Robert Kubica, is 15th. Both drivers have pitted for dry tyres. Michael Schumacher leads the 16th race of the season.
