Fan Event thrills BMW Sauber Race Club members

The Race Club offers BMW Sauber F1 Team fans the chance to get as close to their team as possible. Last Saturday, more than 1,000 motorsport enthusiasts used the unique opportunity to meet the drivers and the team's senior personnel.

The BMW Sauber F1 Team lives on the support of all its fans around the globe. As a thank you to the many active supporters of the young racing team, the Race Club invited all its members to Betzholz, near the BMW Sauber F1 Team facilities in Hinwil.

On the area of Europe's largest traffic safety centre, visitors received a very special glimpse behind the scenes of Formula One racing. Arguably the highlight of the event was the appearance of Nick Heidfeld and Robert Kubica. The team drivers dropped by to answer the fans' questions and signed countless autographs. Additionally, they proved their driving skills. Nick and Robert completed several laps in a Formula BMW FB02 car and competed against the winners of a raffle in an exciting kart race.

The fans also received the chance to test their own driving skills and limits. Among other things, a drifting and downhill training programme, as well as an aquaplaning simulation awaited the audience. Furthermore, visitors were able to have their pictures taken next to a current BMW Sauber F1.06, to win signed helmets and race overalls, as well as take a close look at many components of the Formula One race car.
