Vertical nose wings banned by FIA!

It has been reported from some sources that the radical vertical nose wings, used by the team in Magny Cours, are now banned. So FIA has acted to end the controversy, by supposedly saying they were agaisnt the safety.

But it is still not clear if it's only safety or also due to their controversial shape and position, that most considered aestetical.

Another interesting point is that the safety reasons used by FIA is that they affect the front lateral vision of the driver, and not the possible risk of them falling and hitting the driver or another car.

It's also still not clear if any team has complained agaisnt it, as Honda did with the flexi rear wing affair.

What is more strange is why were those wings allowed in Magny Cours if they were so bad for the drivers visibility?

In fact the all three BMW Sauber drivers admitted that it did not affect visibilty at all, because they were very thin.

Maybe the TV coverage showed how wierd and radical they looked.

Last week the mass dampers used by Renault and other teams was also banned, and with all the rules to reduce costs and technology introduced by Max Mosley for 2008 and on, I'm begining to think..... Is innovation badly regarded by FIA?
